COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) has officially awarded Jay Rinehart with the 2026 SCR Distinguished Service Award (DSA). The award recognizes Rinehart’s decades of voluntary service, leadership, and contributions to the real estate profession across local, state, and national levels.
The Distinguished Service Award is one of the highest honors conferred by South Carolina REALTORS®. It is specifically reserved for members who have demonstrated continuous commitment to the industry and their communities without financial compensation for their service.

The Distinguished Service Award was created to recognize leaders whose contributions go beyond standard professional achievements. To qualify for the award, candidates must meet strict criteria set by the SCR Awards Committee:
Ongoing Voluntary Service: Long-term dedication to state, local, and national committees, task forces, and leadership boards without compensation.
Measurable Industry Impact: Contributions in critical operational or legislative areas that visibly benefit fellow real estate professionals and home buyers/sellers across South Carolina.
Integrity & REALTOR® Spirit: Exemplary adherence to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, servant leadership, and positive community engagement.
Decades of Dedicated Leadership
Jay Rinehart’s selection reflects a career marked by involvement across all three levels of the REALTOR® organization:
